Brief History:
is one of the oldest mosques in the country. It was built in the mid-18th century by Zeynalabdin Taghiyev and is a part of his madrasa complex. The mosque complex was renovated in 1942 and consists of two mosques, two prayer halls, and three mausoleums. It is located in the small city of Ordubad, located in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, a part of Azerbaijan. It is one of the most famous mosque in Azerbaijan which you must visit.

The architecture of the Ordubad Mosque in Azerbaijan is characterized by an imposing, four-tiered dome, flanked by two minarets, which were added to later. The mosque has overlapping arches and a large courtyard with a fountain. The interior of the mosque is decorated with blue and gold tiles, stucco work, and intricate calligraphy. The mosque also features a library, which contains Quran and other religious texts, as well as a school for religious studies. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.

Visitors can see the ancient walls, the remains of a madrassa and a mausoleum. The mosque is open to visitors 7 days a week from 9am to 6pm.
