St. Leopold's Church, Donaufeld is an historic Roman Catholic church located in Vienna, Austria. The church was first established in the early days of the Habsburg Empire. The original church was destroyed during World War II, but the current rebuilt building was completed in 1957. It is one of the best churches in Austria which you must visit.

History:

The original Church was consecrated in 1750, designed by Johann Ferdinand Hetzendorf von Hohenberg. It was located near the Donaufeld suburb and cemetery of Vienna. In 1945, during the closing days of World War II, it was destroyed by fire. Construction of the present church began in 1955 and was completed in 1957. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Austria.

The current church is built on the ruins of the destroyed church and stands 74 feet tall (22.5 meters). The building was designed by architect Günther Domenig, who also designed the nearby Shopping City Sud in Vösendorf. The interior of the Church is mostly modern, featuring bright blue and red furnishings, a large central altar, and several side chapels dedicated to specific saints.

St. Leopold's Church offers Sunday Masses in multiple languages, including English and German, as well as special evidence services and other festivities throughout the year. The church also features a school, kindergarten, and a youth club.
