Schloss Eggenberg is a 17th-century Baroque palace located in the city of Graz in Austria. It was originally constructed for the powerful Eggenberg family, who served as high-ranking courtiers under the Habsburg Monarchy. The palace was built between 1625 and 1659 by Giovanni Pietro de Pomis on the site of a medieval castle. It was designed by the court architect Giovanni Pietro de Pomis, who created the first grand tour of the palace in 1632. The palace served as the main residence of the Eggenbergs for more than two centuries, and during this time, it was expanded and modified. In 1708, the palace was granted a special heraldic privilege, allowing the Eggenbergs to add the imperial double-headed eagle to their coat of arms. In 1810, after the collapse of the Habsburg Monarchy, Schloss Eggenberg was inherited by the Palatine of the Ore Mountains, Prince Ferdinand von Schoenburg-Waldenburg.
