Pfarre Salzburg-Taxham is a Catholic parish in Salzburg, Austria. It has a rich history dating back to the 15th century. The current church was built in 1757. Today, Pfarre Salzburg-Taxham is home to over 5,000 parishioners. It is one of the best churches in Austria which you must visit.

History:

The history of Pfarre Salzburg-Taxham dates back to the 15th century when it was first established by the archbishop of Salzburg, Johann von Taxham. It was initially dedicated to Saint Nikiphorus and included a chapel, rectory, and convent. The original church was destroyed in 1619 during the Thirty Years War, and the current Baroque church was constructed by Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach in 1757. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Austria.
