Franciscan Church, Vienna, also commonly known as the Church of the Holy Trinity, is a Roman Catholic church located in Vienna, Austria. Established in 1686, the church was built by the Order of Friars Minor Capuchin, according to the design of Christoph Hansen. The exterior of the church features baroque architecture, while the interior includes architectural elements of a Byzantine style. The Franciscan Church, Vienna is renowned as an important symbol of the Catholic faith in Austria, attracting thousands of visitors every year. History:

Franciscan Church, Vienna was built in the late 17th century as part of the Franciscan Friary and convent that was located in the heart of Vienna. The construction of the church was started in 1686, with the building’s style being classicist Baroque. The interior was decorated by renowned artists such as Francesco Carelli and Daniel Gran. In 1794 the convent was closed and the Church was used for military purposes until 1947 when it was reopened and it regained its religious purpose. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Austria.

The Franciscan Church of Vienna boasts one of the most beautiful pieces of Baroque architecture in Austria. Its exterior is decorated with stucco, marble, and ornamental stone carvings. The impressive marble façade is further embellished with a pair of statues of Saint Francis and Saint Clare, which is flanked by two female saints.
