Parish Krems St. Veit is an independent parish located in the city of Krems, Austria. It is part of the Roman Catholic Diocese of St. Pölten. The parish dates back to the 14th century. It was established in 1342 when the citizens of Krems asked the bishop of St. Pölten for permission to erect a parish with its own pastor. The parish has served as the focal point of spiritual and social life in the city ever since. It is one of the best churches in Austria which you must visit.

History:

The first pastor of Parish Krems St. Veit was appointed in 1356 and the parish church was built in 1372. The construction of the current church, the Pfarrkirche St. Veit, began in 1704 and was completed in 1707. It was eventually designated a cathedral in 1843. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Austria.
