The parish of Graz-St. Peter dates back to at least the 13th century as the parish church is mentioned in documents from 1254. The original parish church was destroyed during World War II but was then reconstructed in 1949. Since then, the parish has been actively involved in the spiritual and social life of Graz ever since.
