History:

Mozarthaus Vienna was built in 1784 and is the only surviving residential building associated with Mozart, the famous composer. The building originally served as a private residence, but was later turned into a museum in 1912 to pay tribute to Mozart’s legacy. The building was restored and modernized in 2006, after undergoing years of renovations and being supplement by an additional building, now called the “Haus für Musik”, which serves as an extension of the museum. The museum is also home to the preserved apartments where Mozart and his family lived and features life-sized wax figures of the composer and his family.
