Herz-Jesu-Kirche is a historic Roman Catholic Church located in Munich, Germany. It was designed by Wilhelm Thiersch and built between 1906 and 1912. The church was built on the site of the former Jesuit college, which was founded in 1623, and demolished in 1812. The exterior of the church is made of bright red bricks and the interior is decorated with paintings, sculptures, and carvings. The architecture is a blend of Neo-Baroque, Neo-Renaissance, and Neoclassical styles. The church is known for its magnificent frescoes and its large organ, which reportedly has over 5,000 pipes. Herz-Jesu-Kirche is an important pilgrimage site and the site of many events, such as concerts, festivals, and other celebrations.
