Barmherzigenkirche Mariä Verkündigung is a Catholic parish church in Leipzig, Germany. Dating back to the 18th century, it is dedicated to Mary and is known as the "Messenger of Mary". Its Baroque spire makes it a well-known landmark in the city.

History:
The original Baroque church was built in 1736 and was destroyed in the air raids of World War II. A new church, based on designs by the architect Fritz Schäfer, was built from 1949 to 1951. In 1984 it became a separate parish, independent from the neighboring Sankt Peter und Paul parish. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Austria.
