Barmherzigenkirche Mariä Verkündigung In Austria: History,Facts, & Services
History:
The original Baroque church was built in 1736 and was destroyed in the air raids of World War II. A new church, based on designs by the architect Fritz Schäfer, was built from 1949 to 1951. In 1984 it became a separate parish, independent from the neighboring Sankt Peter und Paul parish. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Austria.

Barmherzigenkirche Mariä Verkündigung has a total of 10 altars, 2 side chapels, and a crypt. The original altar painting is preserved in the crypt. The original organ was destroyed in the air raids of World War II, the current organ was built in 1991.

The church offers Masses, confession, counseling, weddings, baptisms, and funeral services. It is open to the public during regular hours.This beautiful church in Austria has made a lot of significance in the past.
