is a 700-year-old mosque located in the city of Souk Ahras, Algeria. It is considered to be the oldest mosque in the country and one of the oldest in the whole of the Maghreb region of North Africa. The mosque was initially built by a group of travellers from Baghdad around 1219. During the Ottoman period, it was refurbished and enlarged, and served as a place of prayer and learning until it was destroyed in the late 19th century. The mosque was then rebuilt in the late1990s, and is now an important spiritual and cultural venue for the people of Souk Ahras. It is one of the most famous mosque in Algeria which you must visit.
