History:

The El Khabir Dam is located in Algeria near the city of Setif. It is an important part of the “Plan of Development” which is run by the Algerian government. It was designed and built by Hydro-Ingénierie and constructed between 2008-2013. The main purpose of this dam was to create a reservoir for irrigation and drinking water and the protection of the surrounding area from floods. It also had the aim of controlling the flow of the Seybouse River so that it could be used for hydroelectric production. The reservoir of the dam is expected to reach about 350 million cubic meters.
