History:

The Mausoleum of Timur Shah Durrani is a historical monument located in Kabul, Afghanistan. It was built between 1768 and 1773, as the final resting place of Timur Shah Durrani, the father of Ahmad Shah Durrani, the founder of the Durrani Empire. The mausoleum is a two-storey building of Islamic architectural style. The interior is decorated with mirrors and paintings of Timur Shah Durrani. Stained glass replicas of historical documents are also featured in the building. The tomb of Timur Shah Durrani lies in the centre of the building on a raised platform, inside a domed chamber. The Mausoleum of Timur Shah Durrani was the target of several attacks between the 1980s and 1990s.
