History:

Qala-e-Bost is an historic fort located in the city of Lashkar Gah in Afghanistan’s Helmand province. The fort has an important place in the history of the region, and was built during the medieval era. The fort is believed to date back to at least the 13th century AD when it was built by Bosti, a chief of the local Afghan tribe. The fort was then expanded by other local dynasties, who gradually enhanced its size and defences. Throughout its history, Qala-e-Bost was used to defend the locals from invading forces. During the 16th century, the fort was attacked during the Mughal invasion, and was further expanded by local rulers to improve its defences.
