8. El Meco Site Cancun 

In the Bay of Isla Mujeres (seven kilometres from the hotel zone), you cannot pass by without noticing this archeological site located to the north of Cancun. Composed of four buildings; the highest one, Chaak Palace, was designed for public functions and it is a place for fishing and agriculture. The remains from more than 50 human burials were found in the rest of the buildings. El Rey has 47 structures on the other hand and with palm roofs, it is believed that the first settlers inhabited wooden houses. 10. Ek’ Balam

Its biggest construction is La Acropolis has an impressive tomb called Ukit Kan Le’k Tok, which is 146 meters high. The constructions are expansive: the Governor Palace spreads out over 1,200 square meters and the El Adivino pyramid is 32 meters high.
