History:

St. David's Cathedral stands in the city of St. Davids in the southwestern corner of Wales in the United Kingdom. It has been a site of pilgrimage for centuries and is closely associated with Saint David, the patron saint of Wales. St. David's Cathedral is a Grade I listed building and one of the oldest surviving ecclesiastical buildings in the country. The building's original form was probably built in the 6th century, although some accounts suggest that it could have been even earlier. The building was originally thought to have been built by the Celtic saint himself or at least by his followers. St. David's Cathedral was founded by St. David himself and was called Llandudaid or Menevia.
