The Germanisches Nationalmuseum is a museum in Nuremberg, Germany founded in 1852. It is the largest museum of cultural history in the German-speaking world and one of Europe’s most important collections of art and artifacts from all periods. The museum began as the Deutsches Museum, created in 1851 by the Grand Duke of Baden Grand Duke Friedrich I for the purpose of exhibiting archaeological and ethnological artifacts from his collections and those of other German rulers.
