Brief History:

: Başdurak Mosque located in the historical district of Bağdat Avenue in Istanbul, Turkey was built by the famous Ottoman architect Mimar Sinan. The building is thought to have been erected in the 16th century during the reign of Sultan Selim I. The mosque is renowned for its tall and unique minaret, which is of a cylindrical shape and made of marble. Inside the mosque, there are several tombs such as the ones of Admiral Jafar Pasha, Hüseyin, and Husniye Begüm. It also contains several invaluable historical artifacts, including a stone inscribed with the name of the original founder of the mosque. The Başdurak Mosque has undergone several renovations throughout its history and remains a popular destination for both locals and tourists today. The Başdurak Mosque located in Bazdurak, Turkey was built in 1514. It is a single domed mosque constructed using Byzantine and Islamic architectural features. The mosque has a massive central dome measuring 9.8 m in diameter, supported by four stone columns. In each corner of the mosque is a small, square prayer niche which is decorated with intricate flower motifs. The entrance to the mosque is framed by an ornate arch in a style commonly seen during the Ottoman period. The walls and the dome of the mosque are adorned with complex geometric patterns, floral motifs and inscriptions. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
