Brief History:

is that it is a 16th century mosque and tomb situated in the city of Mersin, Turkey. The mosque was built during the rule of the Ottoman Empire by a preacher Ahmet Altınpınar for himself and his family. The building is made of stones and mortar and is styled in the Ottoman architecture of the period. The mosque consists of a prayer hall, a tomb, courtyard, and a minaret with a balcony. It also has an inscription in Arabic situated above the entrance of the mosque and is believed to have been inscribed in 1566. It is one of the most famous mosque in Turkey which you must visit.

Architecture:

The Altınpınar Mosque is a large Ottoman-style mosque located in Mersin, Turkey. It was built in 1704 and is a magnificent example of Ottoman architecture. The mosque is constructed from stone and mortar and has three domes and two minarets with curved balconies. The interior of the mosque is decorated with elaborate plasterwork and stalactite moldings. The main prayer hall has sixteen columns and a beautiful mihrab, where the imam delivers the sermon. The qibla is located in the eastern wall facing Mecca. The dome of the mosque is octagonal and rises to a height of 33 meters. Exterior walls of the mosque are decorated with ornamented stone and marble elements. The interior of the mosque is also decorated with various tiles and intricate stucco designs. The mosque is located in a large courtyard that has a fountain with a basin at its center. The courtyard also provides access to adjacent buildings that were used as residences for the imams and their families. Altınpınar Mosque is still used as a place for prayer and worship by the local Muslim community. It also serves as a popular tourist attraction due to its beautiful architecture and historical significance. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
