History:

Wat Sa Si, also known as Sukhothai, is a Buddhist temple located in the Thai province of Nakhon Si Thammarat, just outside of the city of Sukhothai. The temple is said to have been built in the early 14th century, and is attributed to Phra Maha Thammaracha I, the third ruler of the Sukhothai kingdom. The temple is made up of two main sections: the lower and main part, which houses a large white pagoda; and the upper part, which holds several blocked vessels and small temples. In the temple grounds, a small staircase can be found that leads to a large stupa with golden-barked trees and a garden.
