Worship Method:

The traditional worship method of Wat Phumin in Thailand is based heavily in Buddhist and Theravada traditions. Though Wat Phumin is an ecumenical temple, its worship services draw extensively on Theravada and Mahayana Buddhism. The daily temple worship involves chanting and prostrations, as well as meditation. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings, the monks are present in the temple for chanting and meditation. Saturday evenings, there is a more elaborate ritual called the evening meal, during which the monks offer food to the Buddha and then eat together. The lay Buddhists who visit Wat Phumin also make offerings of food, merit-making items, and candle/incense lighting. Additionally, monks from the temple offer spiritual counselling and chanting to the lay Buddhists. On special occasions such as the Thai New Year, Songkran Festival, and the sacred Uposatha Day, the temple organizes more elaborate ceremonies with dancers who perform traditional Thai dances.
