Wat Kalayanamitr in Bangkok is a Theravada Buddhist temple. The temple follows the traditional method of worship as seen in most Theravada temples across Thailand. Worshipers entering the temple start their worship by doing prostration three times. Visitors then bear incense sticks, light the candles and walk around the ordination hall three times in a clockwise direction while reciting a mantra. After the circumambulation, worshipers enter the ordination hall to pay respects to the images of the Lord Buddha and other deities. The next step consists of taking three sets of the eight Precepts while reciting a special chant. Following this, worshipers may offer donations to the temple or perform other tasks of devotional importance. Finally, worshipers may light more incense sticks back outside and pray.
