The main method of worship at Wat Pa Dara Phirom is through the practice of meditation (Satipatthana), which is believed to help connect one’s spiritual practice to the teachings of the Buddha. Additionally, Buddhist prayers, rituals, and chanting are used to pay respect to the Buddha and other Supernatural Beings. In a typical day at the temple, devotees will gather to chant and meditate in the morning, followed by a Dhamma sermon from a senior member of the temple. Offerings and chanting of the triple-gem – the Buddha, the Dhamma, and the Sangha – will be made, followed by a Buddhist practice of prostration. It is situated about 4 km from downtown Lampang, and the drive usually takes about 10 to 15 minutes. Alternatively, you can also take an intercity bus from Bangkok to Lampang.
