The Wat Srisa Aisawan Tharam is located in the ancient city of Ayutthaya, Thailand, and its history dates back to the 18th century. This Buddhist temple was constructed during the reign of King Boromakot (1733-1758) of the Ayutthaya Kingdom (1351-1767). The temple served as a personal shrine for the king and was completed in 1749. Its original name was Wat Thabthim or Wat Thaptim. The temple features a design of a large rectangular multi-tiered chedi, which is bell-shaped and surrounded by small chedis, along with a large Buddha image that stands at 52.5 metres high. This image is the largest Buddha image in Ayutthaya, a feat that earned the temple the nickname of "Giant Buddha Temple". The temple also features a smaller chedi, which was built during the reign of King Rama I in the early 19th century.
