Worship Method:
The Siddeshwara Temple in Gadwal, located in Telangana, is one of the most revered temples in the region. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, and his worship is done through traditional methods and rituals. The morning rituals involve the traditional worship of Lord Shiva with the chanting of Shiva mantras and Shlokas, followed by abhishekam and Rudrabhishekam using sacred offerings like sandalwood paste, kumkum, holy water, precious stones, herbs and other materials. The noon rituals include the Abhishekam with the five shankas (conch shell, rod, sword, trident and bell) for which 108 lotus flowers along with their stems are required. During this ritual, honey, milk, curd and ghee are also offered to Lord Shiva. Puja is also conducted in the evening. The ritual involves offerings of seven sets of flowers, with each set having five flowers of different colors. These flowers are offered to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati to gain their blessings. After the Puja is over, devotees perform aarti with camphor and kheer. They then offer a Ksheerabhishekam to Lord Shiva, where kheer is offered to the Lingam. The devotees also perform the annual temple festival, which is known as Brahmotsavam. During this festival, elaborate rituals are performed and grand feasts are held in honor of the deities.
