Worship Method:

The Chaya Someshwara Temple, located in Panagal, Telangana, is an important shrine for local Hindus and is revered as one of the Dakshina Kailashas. The presiding deity of the temple is Lord Someshwara, an incarnation of Lord Shiva. The worship at Chaya Someshwara Temple is done according to the Shaiva Agamas (Vedic scriptures). The daily rituals in the temple begin early in the morning at around 5 am with the priest chanting invocations and presenting offerings, flowers and incense to the Lord. This is followed by Abhishekam or bathing of the deity, chanting of various mantras and shlokas, and offering of naivedya (food). After the divine offering, the priest lights the sacred fire and chants more mantras. The Pooja ceremonies are conducted three times a day: morning, noon and evening. During each Pooja, offerings such as fruits, flowers, incense, and camphor are presented to the deity. In the morning, special offerings are made of coconut and milk, while in the evening, various classical music instruments are used to offer homage to the Lord. Before the entry of devotees into the inner sanctum, pranam and namaskar are offered to the presiding deity. Devotees also perform a circumambulation or pradakshina around the temple.
