The worship of Goddess Gnana Saraswati at the Basar temple is based on both the Vedic and Shaivite traditions. Devotees perform abhishekam, offer flowers, and recite mantras during their worship. They also offer aarti and seek the blessings of the goddess. A devotee also performs a puja, a prayer ritual for the goddess, which begins with chanting mantras and meditating on the goddess. Incense sticks and lamps are also lit in devotion, followed by priestly offerings of fruits, flowers, and grains. After the puja is complete, devotees chant the panchalaukacara, which are five verses of praise to the goddess.
