Worship Method:

The worship methodology of Thiruverkadu Karumariamman Temple is based on Rahukalam and Shaivam and the traditional methods of worship as laid down in Agama Sutras. For daily puja’s, the temple has a permanent team of priests. Devotees are requested to take due care before going into the temple premises. 1. Morning Puja Procedure The temple opens at 5:30 am and Abhishekam is performed for the sanctified idols accompanied by sastrik mantras. Maha Ashtotharam by chanting is performed - a prayer offering of 108 names of Mother Goddess Karumariamman. After that, Archana for Karpaga Vinayagar is performed and devotees are allowed for worship from 6:30 am onwards. 2. Noon Puja Procedure The temple opens at 12 pm for noon pujas. A special Vinayagar puja is done with 108 sacred mantras as per tradition. This is followed by a special Sundara Karumariamman Puja conducted by the priests. 3. Evening Puja Procedure The temple opens at 5 pm and Kala Santhi is performed for the sanctified idols with recitation of sacred mantras. This is followed by a special puja of the goddess, to be followed by Aaratikal and Shanthi. 4. Special Day Worships The temple has the following special day worships: (a) Krithika star day puja (once in a month) (b) Karumariamman’s birthday (Jayanti) (every year) (c) Kadai puja (every year) (d) Navarathiri (every year) (e) Varusha puja (every year) (f) Annabhishekam (every year) (g) Other special occasion poojas (if any) 5.
