Worship Method:

The worship method at the Subramanya Swamy Temple in Tiruchendur, Tamil Nadu follows the ancient rules of Vaikhanasa Agama and is based on the tradition observed in the temple's history. The daily ceremony of the temple begins with the opening of the inner sanctum, or Garbagraha at 4 am and the offering of puja that comprises of the chanting of manthras, the lighting of lamps and the offering of flowers to the Lord. The other vedic rituals that follow include the offering of naivedyam, a combination of different fruits and stones, the waving of camphor and the chanting of hymns. These are followed by special archanas which include Anna Puja, offering of cooked rice, chanting of mantras such as Ashtosahasranam, Kavacham, Kanthasthakam etc. This is done in order to seek the blessings of Lord Subramanya. The abhishekam is done in the evening after the holy bath which is known as thirukomar. After this, Prasada is distributed to all the devotees who have come to the temple.
