The worship method of Nachiyar Kovil in Kumbakonam is pretty similar to that of other temples in Tamil Nadu. Generally, devotees take a bath in the temple tank near the entrance of the shrine, before they enter the inner sanctum. Temple priests then perform a special prayer called the Arulvakku to invoke the blessings of the Almighty. This is followed by offering of flowers, fruits, incense, and other forms of poojas. Concluding the prayers, devotees receive a root prasadam offered by the priests.
