History:
is one of the Arupadai Veedu Temples, is a famous Hindu temple, located in Tiruttani, about 68 kilometers from Chennai in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. The temple is dedicated to Lord Subramanya, son of Lord Shiva, and is the fourth Arupadai Veedu (one of the six places of worship of Lord Subramanya). A special feature of this temple is that devotees offer their prayers here with flowers of the kalpavriksha tree, believed to be a wish-fulfilling tree. The Tiruttani Subramanya Swamy Temple follows worship services according to the Agamic (Vedic & Tantric) tradition. The devotees perform poojas and various aradhanas as per the Agama Shastra. All the major festivals in the temple are conducted according to the Pancharatra Agama. On a day-to-day basis, several abhishekams and archana are performed to Lord Murugan. Special poojas and spiritual activities are organised on Kartikai, Tiruvonam and Fridays. On each full moon day, the temple remains open until late in the night and devotees perform Rudrabhisheka in the temple.
