: Kunnathur Padi (Kanyakumari district) is one of the oldest villages in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu, situated on the banks of the Pahrali river. Worship Method:
The worship method of Kunnathur Padi, Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu, is done in accordance with the age-old Hindu norms and traditions. The priests draw a temporary pavilion (mandapam) near the idol that is decorated with flowers and incense. Devotees then offer prayers and perform the 'pallakku pooja'. After this, offerings of flowers, paddy, leaves, sandalwood paste, and kumkum are made to the idol. The worship ends with 'aarthi', where the priest goes around the deity with a burning camphor lamp. Afterwards, prayers from the Thiruppavai and Thiruvembavai are recited, and a grand feast is hosted for the congregants. Various ritualistic activities, such as drawing a rangoli and breaking a coconuts, are also carried out during this time.
