is a Christian Reformed Community located in the Marowijne District in the far east of Suriname. The name of the community is derived from the bible verse "Ebenezer, which means 'stone of help'. The community was founded in 1970 by prominent citizens of nearby Lawa Kondre. The aim was to create a safe place to live for people of African, Arawak, Carib and Indian heritage. Since then the community has grown substantially with some 2,500 people now living in the area. The community is based on Christian principles and it caters mostly to evangelical, Protestant and Roman Catholic faiths. The people of the community are engaged in various activities such as farming, livestock raising, fishing, logging, artisanal crafts, and even small scale mining. The majority of the people also work in nearby Paramaribo, the capital of Suriname. The community also provides a variety of educational and health care services to its residents, as well as recreational activities for the youth.
