is an initiative from the Surinamese NGO EMERGENCI (Environmental Management for the Great Environment, Culture and Inclusivity). This project is aimed to restore and revalue traditional knowledge for the well-being of the local people in Suriname. Through this project, local wisdom will be shared with the youth, so they can become guardians of the flora in Suriname and more aware of the cultural and environmental history of their landscape. Through various activities such as workshops, field trips, and art competitions, we want to involve the youth in the management of the rich flora in Suriname. We intend to build their understanding and appreciation of the flora in their environment and help them to become active contributors to environmental awareness. In addition, we would like to stimulate job opportunities for local communities, and encourage the sustainable use of the flora for livelihoods.
