is a small community located in a rural part of Suriname, a small country located on the northeast Atlantic and Caribbean coasts of South America. According to the 2010 census the population was 176 people. The village was first established by enslaved Africans as part of a Portuguese plantation in the 17th century. It was taken over and renamed by Dutch colonials in the 18th century. Cama Gemeente de Rank is unique in the country as it is the only village with a Creole majority. It is a mainly agricultural village whose main crops are rice, cassava, plantains, fruits and vegetables. The villagers, being mostly descendants of enslaved Africans, continue to speak their original languages, which are mainly Creole and Portuguese. It is one of the best churches in Suriname which you must visit.
