The latest expansion included a variety of architectural features such as an arcade for prayer, a minaret with a glazed dome, two entrance gates with iconography unique to Jeddah, a large prayer hall, and an octagonal ablution area. Structurally, the mosque reflects the traditional period of Jeddah with its Islamic and Middle Eastern elements such as its mud-brick walls with their geometric patterns and intricate tilework. The mosque is further adorned with calligraphic inscriptions from the Qur’an, and the interior is finished with light-colored wood paneling and colorful geometric inlay work on the walls. The floors feature marble and patterned tilework, which adds to the beauty of the overall design. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
