Igreja de São Vicente de Fora (Church of Saint Vincent Outside the Walls) is a 16th-century Portuguese church located in the Alfama quarter of Lisbon, Portugal. It was constructed between 1582 and 1629 to honor St. Vincent of Saragossa, a 3rd-century martyr who is the patron saint of Portugal. The church was built on the site of a 10th-century Moorish mosque and features a mix of Renaissance and Mannerist architecture styles. The church is one of Lisbon's most iconic landmarks. It has been used to host grand ceremonies and is still an active parish to this day. Its interior features Baroque and Mannerist influences, including intricate stone carvings and 18th-century tiles. The church also serves a historical, cultural and spiritual role in Lisbon, hosting a number of concerts, art exhibits and daily Mass services.
