History:
The church was founded in 1525 by the parish priests of Setúbal, as well as by members of its two main congregations. It was originally built in a Gothic style and has undergone several renovations over the years. The most recent was in the early 20th century, when elements of the Classical style were added to the architecture. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Portugal.

Church Lumiar / St. John the Baptist has four bell towers, the tallest measuring 43 meters in height. Its interior is adorned with several works of art and details of Neoclassical and Manueline styles. From the outside, visitors can admire the ornamental facade and its beautifully sculpted façade.

The church offers Masses every day of the week, as well as baptisms and weddings. It is also open to the public every day during daylight hours for those wishing to visit.This beautiful church in Portugal has made a lot of significance in the past.
