The United Pentecostal Church Philippines Inc. was founded by Pastor Sotero Uy, in 1932. Pastor Uy had started a revival movement in 1919 and, by 1933, had formed the Philippine Pentecostal Mission. In 1983, this mission and the Pentecostal Churches of Christ Inc. merged and later adopted the name United Pentecostal Church Philippines Inc (UPCP). This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Philippines.

Aside from local outreaches, UPCP also takes part in international missions and has contributed to spreading the Gospel in many countries, including India, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan and Southeast Asia.
