San Agustin Church of Paoay is an iconic Baroque-style church located in the town of Paoay in the Ilocos Norte province of the Philippines. Constructed in 1604, it is one of the oldest churches in the country and has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The church was built as part of a project undertaken by the Society of Jesus, one of the largest and most influential Roman Catholic religious orders. History:

The construction of San Agustin Church of Paoay began in 1694 and was completed in 1710. It was designed by Antonio Maria de Peru and Juan de Herrera. The walls are made of large coral blocks quarried from Paoay Bay and held together with a mortar composed of molasses, sand and egg whites. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Philippines.
