The Christian Information Center In Palestine (CICIP) is a joint initiative comprised of religious leaders, civic activists and members of the international community to share information on Palestinian Christian life with the world. Founded in Bethlehem in 1988, CICIP’s mission is to promote awareness of the plight of Palestine’s Christian community and to ensure their unique identity is preserved, respected and recognized. CICIP's purpose is to provide short-term and long-term solutions for the Christians in Palestine and the Middle East by bringing attention to the many challenges they face including displacement, poverty, occupation, human rights violations, and reducing access to education, healthcare and public services. CICIP works by engaging various stakeholders including the Christian churches and communities in Palestine, the Palestinian Authority, political parties, international organizations and friendly governments to bring attention to the unique issues that Palestinian Christians have to face. CICIP also hosts advocacy events, educational programs, and seminars. CICIP has been active in publicizing and advocating on behalf of Palestinians in international forums such as the United Nations General Assembly and Human Rights Council at the periodic reviews of the country. Additionally, CICIP works with the Christian churches in the West Bank and Gaza Strip in order to facilitate information exchange between local organizers and global stakeholders.
