Worship Method:

The ISKCON temple Sohar in Oman follows the traditional chanting and worship of Lord Krishna as practiced in the Bhagavata Sutra, the ancient Vedic scripture from India. It also follows the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita and Hare Rama mantra. The devotees engage in the chanting of the Hare Rama mantra along with prayers, offering flowers and some offerings from the kitchen of the temple. The priest then starts the aarati, which is an offering of lights with incense. After the aarati, devotees sit down for a discourse and discourses of Lord Krishna and his divine life. Prasadam or blessed food is offered after the process. Bhajans and kirtan sessions also form an integral part of the worship. An important part of the worship is the distribution of prasadam (blessed food) after the service has been completed. The devotees carry and distribute the blessed food to all attending the service.
