Brief History:
is located in Suwayh village in the North West region of Oman. It is a modern mosque with a capacity to hold up to 1000 worshippers. The mosque was built in 2016 with the help of the local community and government support. The mosque consists of two main halls for prayer, two separate sections for women, one for children and a library. A modern air-conditioning system and a comprehensive public address system have also been installed. It also has a public courtyard with fountains and trees for people to enjoy. It is one of the most famous mosque in Oman which you must visit.
Architecture:
The Al Suwayh North West Central Mosque is an early modern mosque in Muttrah, Oman. It has a simple, geometric design that creates an inviting and visually pleasing atmosphere. Built on what used to be a beach in the 19th century, the mosque takes advantage of natural light through large windows while still maintaining privacy and cultural respect. The mosque is built on a two-story, five-pointed star plan, with the main prayer hall is located in the center and five surrounding courtyards. The exterior of the mosque is characterized by white marble and blue tinted windows, with the main entrance decorated with intricately carved geometric motifs. The interior is bright and airy, with marble accents and a large central dome that rises above the surrounding courtyard walls. The floors are tiled and the walls are adorned with intricate patterns. The mosque also features an ablution courtyard for ritual washing prior to prayers, and a separate women's prayer area. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
Visiting Hours:
Al Suwayh North West Central Mosque is open for visitors from Friday to Monday from 7:00 am to 12:00 pm. It is closed the other days of the week. best mosque in the world.
