Brief History:
is that it is situated in Al-Khudayriat of Seeb about 21 kilometers from Muscat. The mosque is the largest mosque in the area with a multilevel minaret of about 50 meters and the capacity to accommodate 1500 worshippers. The mosque also has a large courtyard covering an area of 2500 square meters and a library with books about history, literature and Islamic sciences. It was built by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said in 2009. It is one of the most famous mosque in Oman which you must visit.
Architecture:
The Al Sifa West North Mosque in Oman features a traditional Omani architectural style with a blend of modern designs. It is characterized by its large, dome-shaped rooftop as well as other features such as its brick and clay decorations, its unique mihrab niches, its stained glass windows, and its wooden ceiling panels. The entrance to the mosque is framed by semi-octagonal columns and a crenellated parapet. The overall design keeps with the traditional Omani style with a few subtle modern touches. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
