Brief History:
(Located In Wilayat of Al Duqm): Al Qarn West South Mosque is an old and historic mosque located in the Wilayat of Al Duqm, Sharia of Oman. The mosque was constructed by the rulers of Ancient Oman before the Islamic conquest of the region. It was one of the main destinations of pilgrimage for followers of Islam living in Coastal Oman hundreds of years ago. The mosque has a unique design. Its construction is distinctive as it incorporates Arabian elements with Persian-style features. The construction of the mosque also includes materials from the Indian sub-continent. These materials were brought to Oman in the 7th century during the period of Islamic expansion. Despite its age, the mosque is still popular among the pilgrims in the region and it has attracted visitors from all over the world. The mosque was renovated in 1997 and again in 2007. Currently, the mosque is managed by the Ministry of Religious Affairs in Oman. It is one of the most famous mosque in Oman which you must visit.
Architecture:
The Al Qarn West South Mosque is a multi-domed building with a courtyard and two minarets. The two large central domes are surrounded by four smaller domes, with two at the front and two at the back, creating an open-plan design where visitors can easily walk between different areas. The mosque is built of stone and mortar and topped with made of white marble, giving the structure a distinctively Omani look. In addition, the mosque boasts intricate carvings around the entrance and windows, as well as a majestic façade adorned with intricate calligraphy. Inside, visitors can appreciate an intricate woodwork containing verses from the Quaran. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.

The visiting hours of Al Qarn West South Mosque in Oman are from 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM. The mosque is open every day of the week except Fridays. During the hour before and after prayers, the mosque is open to visitors. best mosque in the world.
