Al Manuma East South Mosque is a venerated holy site located in Muscat, the capital of the Sultanate of Oman. Constructed in the 17th century, it is the oldest and largest mosque in the country. It is said to have been built by Imam Sultan bin Saif al Ya'rubi, the first Imam of Omani ancestry. The mosque underwent a major remodeling and expansion in the 1980s, and now features a three-story edifice with a dome rising above the main prayer hall. The mosque also houses a seminary, educational center, and library. The Al Manuma East South Mosque is a major pilgrimage site and draws large crowds during holy occasions. Architecture:

The Al Manuma East South Mosque in the Nizwa region of Oman is built using a traditional combined architectural style of Islamic and Omani architecture. The main structuring of the mosque is inscribed by a rectangular main volume, 43 meters in length and 25 meters in width. A domed minaret has been incorporated throughout the compound, further enhancing the mosque's position as a focal point from the surrounding area. Facades of the building are clad in gypsum board panels, arranged in an articulated and symmetrical design along its four facades. Surrounding the zigzag design of the main structure are arch shutters adorned with geometric patterns finished in a bright white plaster. The communal prayer hall is ornamented with neutral yellow details, and the ceiling is lined with vibrant colored plaster, ornate carvings, and Arabic script motifs. Additionally, the mosque's two minarets are clad with ceramic tiles, creating an air of grandeur. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
