Brief History:
Al Ashkharah North Mosque is located in the city of Al Ashkharah, Oman. It was built in the year 1417, and was originally used as a place of worship for the Shafa'i sect of Islam. It was renovated in 1990, when it became the main mosque of Al Ashkharah, and remains one of the most important places of worship in the region. It is one of the oldest mosques in Oman and is one of the most important historical landmarks in the city. It is one of the most famous mosque in Oman which you must visit.
Architecture:
The Al Ashkharah North Mosque is located in the Wilayat of Al Ashkharah in the Sultanate of Oman. The mosque is constructed in the traditional Omani style of architecture. The main body of the mosque is composed of intricately carved stone featuring arches, doorways and intricately detailing carvings. The minaret is tall and slender, tapering towards the top, and built out of local construction materials such as coral and mud brick. The mosque features a large courtyard area, surrounded by decorative arches, and housing a number of other amenities such as a car park, ablution area, and prayer hall for congregational prayer. The walls of the mosque are decorated with colorful tiles, with a gold crescent moon in the center, surrounded by Islamic script. The inside of the mosque also features large prayer rooms for the faithful. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
