It was built in 1807 by Sayyid Al-Busi, a well-known theologian and scholar from the Al-Bu Said who worked under the Sultan of Muscat. The mosque is unique in its architecture and construction, and its impressive prayer hall dates to 1815. The mosque’s main minaret is decorated with various inscriptions and its mihrab and minbar date to 1831. The main prayer hall is illuminated by seven large stained-glass windows and decorated with geometric designs. Architecture:

Al Aqur South West North East Mosque is a large, rectangular-shaped stone mosque located in Al Aqur, Oman. The mosque was built in around 1419, and is believed to be the oldest surviving mosque in the country. Its design is typical of the time, with a small central hall, and four walls radiating outward into four smaller rooms, which make up the four sides of the mosque. The four walls are divided into five sections, and the walls are decorated with intricate carvings and designs. The closely packed columns and arches that are typical of this style of architecture are also visible. The roof is made from timber, and the mosque is constructed from local stone. The entrance to the mosque is a small archway at the west side, while there are two enclosed courtyards on either side of the main hall. The mosque is capped with a dome, which rises around 10 meters above the floor. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
