The Al Qadah South Mosque (Masjid Al-Qadah Al-Sharqi) is located in the Muscat Governorate in the Al-Batinah region of Oman. It was built in the late 16th century and stands in the centre of a large compound in the village of Saham. The Mosque is believed to have been constructed by Imam Sultan bin Saif al-Ya’ribi, who was the leader of the Ya’ariba tribe of Oman, during the reign of the Ya’ariba dynasty in Oman until the early 20th century. The mosque is believed to be a Sunni Mosque and this belief was confirmed by the Omani Ministry of Heritage and Culture in a statement in April 2012. The Mosque has been renovated several times throughout its history, the most recent being in 2010-12. A new mosque was built adjacent to the existing Al Qadah South Mosque in 1992.
