Brief History:
Al Khuwair East North Mosque is a religious building located in the Al Khuwair neighborhood of Muscat, Oman. The mosque was privately funded by local business man and was constructed in 1996. The mosque is part of a larger development, including a school, madrasa, and a youth center. The mosque is well known for its grandiose design, incorporating a mehrab, a minaret, and prayer halls. The mosque also offers various services, such as religious classes, marriage ceremonies, and religious gatherings. It is one of the most famous mosque in Oman which you must visit.
Architecture:
The Al Khuwair East North Mosque is a religious building in Muscat, the capital city of Oman. The imposing mosque was constructed on a stone elevated platform in the eastern corner of the city and is of modern construction. The mosque building has a distinctive external design with its five-floor round structure and five minarets rising to a dome that crowns the building. Its interior is made up of an open hall with three aisles and a large prayer hall with a richly adorned mihrab which is used for the prayer’s direction. The walls of the mosque are adorned with intricate mosaic detailing, decorated with motifs from the Arabic tradition. Natural ventilation is provided through opening in the height of the mosque and a basement which opens up to the outside. The mosque is furnished with wooden chairs and modern technology such as LCD projection systems and video screens. A small garden is also available at the side of the mosque for worshipers to spend time in. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.

It can be reached from Muscat International Airport via taxi, and is approximately 25 km away; the journey typically takes around 25 minutes. Local buses also run to the mosque, from Al Khuwair bus station. The journey time is around 7 minutes. beautiful masjid.
